I need to heed my own advice. I HAVE been freaking out about not blogging for awhile. Offline life sometimes needs to take priority and forces you to pause other activities temporarily. This has been my reality the past two months. After a refocus and redesign of my blog, I started the process of selling my condo, searching for a new one, and recently moving. Contrary to popular beliefs about moving being one of the most stressful events you can experience, I enjoyed the project management aspects of it all with minimal stress. But, it took all my focus and I really didn’t work on my writing. And you know what? I’m ok with that.
Our lives outside our blogs occasionally need our attention more. Anyone old enough to remember a time when the internet wasn’t part of daily life most likely doesn’t reflect back with memories of an abundance of free time before the internet. Life kept us busy then. And the introduction of the internet only adds more opportunities to keep us busy now.
When your offline life needs some attention, step away from the online world. It’s not going anywhere. Take care of the things you need to in your physical world. Neglecting them will often have greater unpleasant consequences than stepping away from your blog for a short while.
