As 2016 breaks open, I’m drawn to memories of past years where the start of a new year created an excitement and motivation in me to take on the world. This year is a little different. If “excitement” and “motivation” are quantifiable, I’d say those numbers are lower than in past years, but I expect them to rise. How’s that for forecasting? The new year started for me, literally on NYE, with the onset of a sinus and chest cold followed by pink eye for a week. The pink eye cleared up in the first week and I’m in the tail end of the cold, but that made my first week of the new year less than motivating or exciting.
Today puts me in front of my laptop, starting with my full intention to practice consistency in this new year. This short list of “consistency” resolutions for the new year are sure to feed my excitement and motivation for existing and new ideas.
Consistency in writing for this blog with less stress over writing the perfect post.
Consistency in my artistic endeavors.
Consistency in completing projects I start. This invariably means more consistency in choosing only select project ideas to pursue.
Do you have great ideas fed by excitement and motivation which you lose interest in after starting? What do you do to stay consistent?
